Welcome to our Online Patient Center!

Here you can get information about what to expect during your visit with Drs. Alireza and Sana Somji as well as important intake forms you can complete before your appointment.

We want your visit to be as efficient as possible giving you more time to spend with our doctors. Our team will do everything we can to make sure you have a great experience and all of your eye and vision concerns are met and exceeded. If you have any questions about these forms, please don’t hesitate to contact us via phone, text or e-mail.

What to Expect

If you’re a new patient, welcome to our practice! We’re looking forward to meeting you and taking care of your eyes and vision needs.

We will begin your visit with an email from our super friendly patient coordinator with forms to review and sign, and a link to fill out your pre-exam medical history and concerns. If you didn't get a chance to review and complete our electronic forms at home, we will have you sign those at check-in. If you've already submitted everything prior to arriving, we will get your exam started promptly.

Prior to seeing our doctors, one of our eye care professionals will spend about fifteen minutes measuring your eye alignment with the Neurolens NMD2 device, the curvature of the front of your eyes, taking infra red images of your eyelid glands with the Lipiscan, and ultra wide field Optomap pictures of the back of your eyes. If you selected it, they will also take 'virtual CT-like' scans of the back of your eyes with our Maestro2 OCT technology.  Children may have an eye tracking test with the RightEye eye tracking device, and contact lens patients may have a corneal topography done with our Medmont corneal topographer

Your examination will begin with a review of your medical history, eye history and a measurement of your eyesight with and without glasses or contact lenses and several other important tests. Having a full drug list and medical history with you if you weren’t able to fill out the intake forms at home will be helpful.

Dr. Somji or Dr. Sana will visit with you and ensure all of your eye and visual needs and concerns are addressed. Be prepared to talk about your hobbies, your sports, your activities, and how you use your eyes in your daily activities! We want to know it all so we can help you enjoy your vision. Your examination may include dilation (especially if you're scheduled for a medical eye examination) so please prepare accordingly. At the end of your visit we will review all of your imaging, discuss treatments (such as Myopia Management options for children, Dry Eye Spa treatments, etc) or plans (such as sports vision performance evaluations and binocular vision therapy). We will also review the best vision correcting options for your needs and you will spend some time with our skilled optician Thu who will custom fit you into the right frame and eyeglass lenses to optimize your vision for your daily needs and any hobbies or any special visual tasks you have discussed with Dr. Somji or Dr. Sana.

Our goal is to be the best, to have the best and to give meaningful solutions to enhance your quality of life. We understand we do a lot of things that go above and beyond a 'routine eye exam', which we feel doesn't fully encompass what vision truly is.  We treat all of our patients with the utmost respect (have a look at our values) and we won't settle for providing you with an experience or products that don't meet our high standards and values. We look forward to seeing you soon!
